Reasons to Prune a Tree

Tree pruning is an essential part of any trees growth. It helps trees live a longer life as they grow better, while maintaining a safe & even balance.

Some reasons a tree may need to be pruned are:

Pruning a tree will allow more sunlight into the garden area, which is important for other shrubs, plants and trees to grow properly. It will also reduce the overall weight, thus minimizing damage from storms and high winds.

Tree Pruning

A variety of factors need to be taken into account such as age, shape, size, character, condition and species while pruning. We use these above factors to assess the type of pruning needed before carrying out any cutting.

In case we are working in a space where there is risk of harm to the public, we will display safety signs and will ( as required) cordon off our working zone with hazard tape.

Our tree experts are very careful and we use a method called the ABC cut. This avoids the tearing of branches or limbs, and reduces the risk of diseases and infection. We follow the guidelines in the British Standards (BS3998).We do not make any flush cuts and all cuts are made to the branch collar, ensuring to leave you with a safe, healthy and well-balanced tree.

Large branches and limbs are lowered safely by using slings and ropes to minimize the risk of damage to the tree or property, and diseased, damaged and dead branches will be cut back to the relevant branch collar.
